Auckland Arrival
Now a temporary resident of New Zealand! As of Tuesday lunch time. I’m still settling in and trying to find a job, rather than spending money and having adventures. That’s to come later.
I managed to sneak in some rock climbing and a gig, on Wednesday. I haven’t been rock climbing for ages, but had a jolly old time trying to scale the heights with Tracey at the local rock climbing centre.

Photo thanks to their website.
After we’d worn out our poor weak arms and I’d heard some bones crunch, we went to The Wine Cellar for a gig. We were there to support a friend of a friends band called Canadia. But the following band, Bear Cat, were far more fun. With their cute little panda and shark outfits.

Do head over to their myspace and check out their songs. My personal favourite is “BW Hair”. I kind of think the lady (Jocee Tuck, according to myspace) should ditch the chap (Chopper Dan, apparently). She’s got a superb voice on her and can hold a better tune than him.
The Wine Cellar is a fine little hidey hole anyway, serving (unsurprisingly) nice wine. I can’t help but think they’d have it shut down because of health and safety (only the odd uneven floor and step, possible fire exit issues) in the UK.
