Yesterday was one of the most hectic days the farm has ever experienced. Over 3,000 pairs of feet through the door, traipsing round the petting farm. We had 19 scheduled birthday parties and hoards of public - the line for admission went across the parking lot and nearly to the main road (we’re talking 80ft long, at least) for most of the day.

I coordinated 2 birthday parties. The first of which was wonderful. The whole family were a delight and they had a very happy party indeed. Once I’d finished they invited me to sit with them to eat pizza and cupcakes, whilst politely asking if I minded having a picture with the birthday girl for their memories. It felt like a Disney movie! They were utterly adorable and it was worth the 6AM start just to meet them.

The 2nd party were pleasant enough though forgettable. I did a reasonable job of making the party run smoothly and was given a tip to match. Once I had finished up my parties for the day, I took the initiative and decided to conquer the pony ride ring line. It had been insanely long since the morning and didn’t seem to be getting any shorter.

Over 2 hours later and lord knows how many kids, we finally got the line down to nothing. The four of us in the ring (and the three horses) felt victorious. It was finally over! Now all I had to do was coordinate trash disposal and tidy up the tables. Though not before I picked a horses foot for the first time ever - a personal achievement and highlight.

Today my aching loins dragged themselves out of bed for what seemed like a meek and mild day, comparably. I was scheduled a mere 3 school tours, even though one of which were surely devils themselves reincarnated.

This afternoon the ever wonderful, hard working and delightful Madison took me to some exciting food outlets and to Wendy’s for lunch. She really is a star! With the most fascinating family history to boot.
