If I were a journalist

Three items purchased since arriving in Maryland. 

1) Beautiful gold leaf necklace, from Etsy

2) Beautiful turquoise pendant, from Etsy 

3) Cheeseburger 

Last night I arrived at 10PM, at BWI airport. Madison, Sammy and Nora came running into the airport to greet me, there was screaming and lots of group hugs. We decided to eat dinner at Ruby Tuesdays, despite the late hour.

I got ribs with fries and onion rings as my two sides and the ‘endless salad’ (which I helped myself to 3 times). We laughed as I commented how nothing in Auckland is open past 9PM - Ruby Tuesdays serves a full menu until midnight. 

Today I slept in until gone midday and then went to see everyone at the farm. All the kids have gotten a year older, another year chubbier or thinner, another year taller. The ducks are bigger, the horses have changed and Bob the bunny is just as cuddly. 

Tonight Martha insisted she took Nora and I out for dinner, so I munched my way through a scrumptious bowl of Chopped Power Salad, which contains:

Chicken breast, spinach, plum tomatoes, carrots, feta, red grapes, goji berries, Thompson raisins, soy nuts, almonds, pepitas and Ocean Spray® Sweetened Dried Cranberries. With fat free vinaigrette. 

And then watched The Social Network at the movies, where I realised I haven’t been to the cinema in America before. Unsurprisingly it’s just the same as anywhere else, except bigger.
